I do not remember my password/username. What can I do?

First, be careful that you enter your email address as your username. Thus you should enter for example "SubashPatel@hotmail.com".
If you still cannot succeed, click on forgot password and we will send a link to your e-mail address, with which you can renew your password.

How do I change my password?

To change your password go to the "account settings" section and just entert he old and new password.

How do I change my login email address?

Your log in e-mail address is our unique identifier. Therefore you cannot change your login e-mail address.

2. My Data

Can I change my name?

Your name can only be changed by us. This is to your own benefit: it is one of our measures to keep the site free of fake profiles.
If you do want to change your name for a valid reason, you can contact us via email, stating your reason for change. We will change your name as quickly as possible.

I am not able to enter my field of study because it is missing from the drop-down menu. What can I do?

We tried to make the list of field of studys as easy to search and at the same time as complete as possible. But it is not complete. If you would like to have your field of study included, then please contact us.

Is the information that I enter visible to everyone?

No. The information is only visible to members you want to show it to. This is regulated by the "visibility" settings within the "edit profile". You are able to limit the visibility of certain information.

3. Members

If I delete someone from the list of my friends, will they be notified?

No, but you will also be deleted from their ,fans" list.

Report a person. What does that mean?

With "Report a person" you can report violations of our rules. It should be used to report a person who:
   - Has a fake profile
   - Is spamming you
   - Has uploaded an inappropriate picture

You will remain completely anonymous. The reported person will under
no circumstance find out that you have reported him/her.

4. Mensa

What is Mensa?

As we explain in the Mensa section, Mensa is an association of intelligent people. It was founded 60 years ago in Britain with the aim of bringing intelligent people together to help the world.

Are you related to Mensa?

GaoZhiShang is not a part of Mensa. However the makers of GaoZhiShang are part of Mensa. GaoZhiShang was designed primarily to be a communication tool for Mensans. While making GaoZhiShang, we noticed that there were many people who did not know Mensa or did not have the time or money to join Mensa. For that reason we expanded our aim to not only bring together Mensa members but intelligent people in general.

Do I have to be part of Mensa to become a member at GaoZhiShang?

No, you do not have to be a Mensa member to become an GaoZhiShang member. However, if you enjoy GaoZhiShang or you generally enjoy meeting intelligent people then we would recommend that you look at your local Mensa organisation. However, there is no Chinese Mensa yet so we will try to take replace Mensa.

5. Groups

How do I join a group?

When you find the group you are looking for, click on the "join group" link on the right side of the screen.
Some groups require administrative approval for you to join. If you try to join these groups, you will have to wait for an admin to let you in.

How do I change my group name?

Sorry, but once the group is created the name can't be changed.

How do I delete a group that I created?

A group cannot be deleted. However you can remove yourself from the group. If you are the administrator then you have to transfer your management responsibilities before you can leave the group. If you are the only member in the group then the group will get deleted automatically when you leave the group.

What are the group visibilty options?

When you create a group, you have the option of making it as open or exclusive as you wish. There are three different privacy levels:
   - Everyone: Every member can search for and view the group
   - Mensa only: Only verified Mensa members
   - Invitation only: Only people you invite can see the group

You can change these options at any time by clicking on "Edit Group"
